Academic Excellence
At Forest City Summer School, we believe summer should be a time for growth, not learning loss. Our hands-on Montessori-inspired curriculum is thoughtfully designed to strengthen core skills in reading, writing, math, music, and science while nurturing a lasting love of learning. Through creative exploration, purposeful work, and individualized support, students stay sharp, engaged, and confident as they prepare for the year ahead.
Whether your child is catching up, keeping up, or ready to move ahead, our academic focus helps them grow in meaningful ways within a joyful and supportive environment.

Certified Teachers
Our team brings over 30 years of combined teaching experience to the classroom, offering a deep understanding of both academic instruction and child development. Our lead teachers are certified educators with a proven track record of guiding students through meaningful learning experiences. Their impact extends beyond academics as they nurture practical life skills, emotional growth, and independence.
With a commitment to Montessori principles and a passion for lifelong learning, our teachers create a warm, structured environment where every child feels seen, supported, and inspired to grow.

Community Enrichment
We believe children learn best when they feel connected, not just to their classroom but to the world around them. That’s why our summer program invites local artists, musicians, business owners, and professionals to share their talents through hands-on workshops and interactive learning experiences.
We are also proud to collaborate with St. James Parks and Recreation and James Memorial Library to offer enriching activities that take learning beyond the school walls. These partnerships help students engage with real-world skills, explore creative expression, and build relationships with the people who make our community special.
By engaging with our broader community, children gain a sense of place, purpose, and curiosity that extends far beyond the classroom.
